OhioHealth Hardin Memorial Hospital, the OSU Extension Agency, ONU HealthWise and Kenton City Schools have teamed up to provide a walking program for the public called Walk with a Doc.
The next session will take place on Monday, December 5 at 5:30 p.m. and will be presented by OhioHealth Urgent Care certified nurse practitioner, Tammy Shepherd.
She will be comparing the various types of viruses and discussing when to go to urgent care versus the emergency department.
ONU pharmacy students will also be on hand to offer blood pressure screenings.
Walk with a Doc is an hour long program that begins with a brief presentation on a current health topic.
After the presentation, participants spend the rest of the hour enjoying a healthy indoor walk with the provider allowing them to ask questions.
The program is free and open to the public of all ages and abilities.
