Around 44 cattle perished in a fire this past Saturday afternoon.
According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office, the fire occurred in a livestock barn owned by Neil and Jan Bair in the 15,000 block of State Highway 294.
42 cows were killed inside the barn. Six escaped the building, but suffered injuries, and two of those had to be put down.
Fire departments from Upper Sandusky, Pitt Township, Marseilles and Salt Rock all arrived as assisted at the scene.
The barn was listed as a total loss.
The cause has not yet been determined.
