Adam Neil Hollanshead, son of Lee and Carol(Ulrich) Hollanshead, passed away at his home in Silverton, Oregon on February 5, 2025 after suffering a sudden heart attack. He was born on May 26, 1978. He is survived by his mother and father, sister, Anna Barrett (Cory Griswold) of Upper Sandusky and brother, Alex Hollanshead (Christine) of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by nieces, Kathryn Barrett, Hanalei Hollanshead and Olivia Griswold; a nephew, Wyatt Barrett; grandmother, Linda Hollanshead; aunts, Jo(Randy) Schick, Robin(Lisa) Hickman, Lisa(Doug) Ballinger and LeAnn(Mark) Schlecht, as well as numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Neil and Kathryn Ulrich, Stuart Hollanshead and Audrey Heck.
Adam was a 1996 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and graduated from the University of Cincinnati with both a BS and MS in Industrial Engineering. He later pursued his PhD in Astro-Physics at Oregon State University. He worked for Ziply Communications as a Principle Network Engineer and as an Entrepreneur, was involved in multiple endeavors including aviation, videography, culinary arts and wine collecting. As a pilot, he satisfied his love of flying in both private and experimental aircraft. He also enjoyed spending time at Willamette Valley Vineyards where he participated as an owner of the community funded vineyard. His German Shepard dog, Ilya, was his constant companion and accompanied him everywhere.
Memorial contributions can be made in remembrance of Adam to the Neil Hollanshead & Family Aviation Scholarship Fund. This scholarship will assist students who wish to pursue a career in aviation.
The fund has been set up through the Wyandot County Community Foundation and donations can be made payable to WCCF-Neil Hollanshead &Family Aviation Scholarship and sent to WCCF,228 S 8th St, Upper Sandusky, OH 43351or brought to Bringman Clark Funeral Home.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, March 30that Bringman Clark Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. The family will receive friends from noon to 2pm with a memory sharing service beginning at
2 pm and led by Pastor Betsy Bowen. If you have any photos or memories of Adam, please bring them to share with his family. Those memories will be cherished forever.
