Constance “Connie” P. Chatelain-Rovelstad 63

of Kenton

Constance “Connie” P. Chatelain-Rovelstad, 63, of Kenton, died Friday, March 21, 2025, at Marion General Hospital. She was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on September 13, 1961, to the late James Morton and Beverly (Toussaint) Rovelstad. She lived in several cities, including Morgantown, West Virginia, and Racine, Wisconsin, before moving to Kenton. In 2016, she married Sally Chatelain and became stepmother to her children, Jennifer (Daniel) Althaus, Jason (Jeri) Clum, and Julie (Jared) Freshcom, her grandchildren, Cheryl (Gavin) Spearman, Joshua Freshcorn, Jenna (Brayden Home) Clum, Justin Freshcorn, and Emma Clum (Calvin Boyer) and great granddaughter Libby Jane Clum. She loved being with their families as they grew. Connie is also survived by her sister Amy Rovelstad and her spouse, Sue Schiefelbein, of Ithaca, NY.

Connie graduated from the University of Wisconsin Parkside in 2001 with a degree in English. She loved to read, especially the classics and Victorian literature, studied history with an emphasis on the Civil War, was very politically aware, and loved to sing and listen to old-time music.

Connie loved her dogs Tilly and Belle and her cats Domino and Olive.

She worked for a number of years as a foot-route and motor-route driver for the Kenton Times.

At Connie’s request she will be cremated. There will be no visitation or funeral service, and her ashes will be scattered later at several lakes where she loved to relax and enjoy life. Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton will handle the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation, the American Heart Association, the Hardin County Humane Society, or to her favorite place to visit, the Mary Lou Johnson Hardin County District Library in Kenton.

Online condolences may be expressed at pricefh.net.
