Obituary for Constance L. “Connie” Frank

Constance L. “Connie” Frank, age 75 of Upper Sandusky, OH died at her residence on Wed. Nov. 25, 2020. Connie was born to the late Warren F. and K. Jane (Feeley) Frank on June 23, 1945 in Lancaster, CA where her father was stationed during WWII. Connie is survived by those who loved her dearly, including her sister Carol (John) Lee, Columbus, OH; nieces Heather (Tommy) Rue, Sarah (Lee) Gatchel, Mary (Zach) Mettee; five great nephews Mac, John, Van, Will and Alex, and one great niece Annie; several cousins and extended family; and many friends who were the light of her happy life.

Connie grew up in Upper on her family’s farm and graduated from Upper Sandusky High School before going on to earn her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from the University of Findlay and Bowling Green State University respectively. Connie served generations of young people as a dedicated teacher at Mohawk High School for 30 years and later substituted locally. A “lifelong coach” Connie believed in the power of education and team sports. She never hesitated to track down sporting equipment, offer helpful tips, and provide very patient support to young learners.

Connie was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She served her community as a Wyandot County EMS volunteer for 19 years. She was a member of the BPOE Elks Lodge #83 and a longtime member of Ellis Lake where she enjoyed boating and BBQing with friends. Connie was also a member of Stone Crossing Golf Club. She loved playing golf and found great joy spending time with her teammates and always-friendly competitors. She was an enthusiastic sports fan and delighted in watching her favorite teams (Go Bucks!). An avid reader, she liked to end the day savoring the pages of a mystery novel.

Connie treasured her family and friends and always made everyone in her large circle feel special. Connie will be remembered for her spirit of kindness, positive attitude, intelligence and sense of adventure. She genuinely cared about the happiness and well-being of others and was devoted to caring for her parents in their later years.

Connie’s family would like to sincerely thank her friends, neighbors and caregivers for their loving care and support of Connie. Due to the pandemic, Connie requested that her family and friends stay positive and gather together when it is safe to do so. We look forward to the time when we can honor and celebrate Connie in person.

A private graveside service will be held at Old Mission Cemetery with Pastor Barry Halter Jr. officiating.
