Obituary for Dr. William Martin “Marty” Miller

Dr. William Martin “Marty” Miller, 70 of Kenton passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021. Marty was born in Willard, Ohio on December 8, 1950 to the late William and Dorla (Gullett) Miller.  He married Vicki Redden on September 9, 1972 in Plymouth. Marty graduated from Plymouth High School in 1969.  He earned his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from The Ohio State University in 1973 and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 1976. He is survived by two sons; Martin Andrew (Kate) Miller of Mason, Ohio and Steven Daniel (Christina) Miller of Hilliard, Ohio.  He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a brother, Jim (Ann) Miller of FL, a sister, Mary Lee (Larry) Taylor of SC and numerous nieces and nephews.  Marty was the owner of Diamond-M Veterinary Clinic from 1976-2001. Following his retirement from Veterinary Medicine, he was an independent contractor installer/trainer for IntraVet, a veterinary specific practice management software company from 2003-2008. Marty was also the owner of Riverhill Management LLC where he helped owners and managers understand veterinary business management principles.  Marty also owned and operated the Arlington Hardware Store from 2011-2016  He served on the Board of Directors, Community First Bank and was the Chairman of the Board from 1996-2021. Marty was also an Adjunct Instructor of Large Animal Medicine and Pharmacology, Veterinary Technician program at Brown Mackie College, Findlay, Ohio.  He was a Life Member of The Ohio State University Alumni Association, a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Independent Community Bankers Association and was an Honorary Life Member of the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association. Locally, Marty served as a board member for Hardin County Revolving Loan Fund, was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church and numerous organizations past and present.  A funeral service will begin at 3:00pm on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME where visitation will be held from 1:00pm Wednesday, until the time of service. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Marty to the Trinity United Presbyterian Church or Hardin County Junior Fair Board.
