Funeral services for Earl Rice will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 9, 2021 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Gregg King officiating. Burial will follow at Salem West Minster Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the funeral home. A Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. following visitation. Masks will be required and Covid-19 protocols should be followed at all services.

Earl died on Friday, April 2, 2021 at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus. He was born on June 26, 1950 in Barbourville, Kentucky to the late Clarence “Red” and Bessie (Lane) Rice.

Surviving are his significant other of 41 years; Betty Hunt of Dunkirk, a son; Mike (Misty) Cole of Kenton, a brother; Robert (Carol) Rice of Dunkirk, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son; Matthew Hunt, a sister; Margarett Cahill, a half sister; Mae Nickels, and a half brother; Ed Bryant.

Earl worked for Cadillac in Detroit for a few years.

He was an active member of the Dunkirk Masons Lodge 549 where he held the position of Master for several years. He was also a Shriner.

Earl enjoyed fishing and working in his yard. He also enjoyed relaxing and watching any OSU sporting events or college football game.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hardin County Shriners.
