Eric Alexander, 51, of Marion, OH, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on April 1, 1973, to Dennis Alexander and Paula Klausing, Eric was a man who dedicated himself to his country, his work, and his family. After graduating from Kenton High School, Eric proudly went on to serve his country with honor in the U.S. Army. Following his military service, he touched countless lives with his compassionate care as a respiratory therapist. Eric later transitioned into a successful career in medical technology sales and computer software design, ending his professional experience as the Chief Design Architect for App Frontier. As one who always embraced new challenges, Eric also started and managed a successful outdoor recreation retailer. Above all, Eric was a beloved father who found great joy in the company of his children: Nathan Hicks, Breanna Burkle, Alexandra Chaudry, and Alyssa Alexander. He was also a loving brother to Cheryl Grover, a devoted uncle to Cole Grover, Dillon Grover, Josh Grover, Jenna Grover, and Willis Smith, and a cherished stepson to Ruth Pettit Alexander and Gale Klausing.
Eric faced cancer with the same great resilience and determination that defined his life, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services for Eric will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, January 27, 2025, at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. Burial with military rites will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery (Grove) in Kenton. Friends and family may visit 2 hours prior to services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Ohio Health Foundation, which supports the compassionate and expert palliative care provided by Kobacker House, or to OSUCCC – The James for gastrointestinal cancer research, as we continue the fight for a cancer-free world.
