Obituary for Jack P. Fry

Jack P. Fry, 85 of Kenton passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021. He was born in Kenton to the late Merle and Mildred (Decker) Fry on January 11, 1936. Jack married Shirley L. Keckler on July 29, 1956 and she preceded him in death on May 26, 2009. He was a 1954 graduate of Kenton High School and served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corp. Jack was a farmer and served as a Deputy Sheriff for Hardin County Sheriff’s Office as the first career deputy in Hardin County, serving for 40 years. He is survived by his daughter, Becky (Bruce) Beery, grandchildren, Ashley Beery both of Richwood, Ohio, brother, Mike (Peggy) Fry of Celina, nephew; John

(Jessica) Fry and children; Sommer Fry all of Hebron, niece; Julie (Mike) Baird and children; Sam, Emily and Luke Baird all of Kenton. Jack was a member of the Kenton Elks Lodge #157, the Hardin County Farm Bureau, Buckeye State Sheriff’s Association, Hardin County Restorers, Hardin County Genealogical Society and Flat Branch Church of Christ. Mr. Fry had the pleasure of guarding several U.S. Presidents. Jack loved old airplanes and helicopters, taking many rides in them.  He also enjoyed traveling the continental U.S. and many islands. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.  Burial will be in Grove Cemetery.
