John Tudor 88 of Kenton

John M. Tudor passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 18, 2025.

John was born in Kenton, Ohio on January 2, 1937, to Arthur D. Tudor and Marjorie M. Tudor (Martin). He was a 1955 graduate of Kenton Senior High School. He pursued a degree in political science from The Ohio State University and graduated in 1959. In his quest to become a student of the law, John was admitted to Duke University and earned his Juris Doctorate in 1962.

Following his admittance to the Ohio Bar, he became an associate with the Cleveland law firm of Squires, Sanders, & Dempsey. In 1965, with a desire to return to his hometown and practice with his father, Arthur, who was completing his final term as Hardin County Common Pleas Judge, John opened a solo practice in Kenton. Over the years, this practice evolved into Tudor Law, LLC. John retired in 2022, following a successful 60-year career in the practice of law.

John was a life-long learner and passionate historian. He loved sailing, skiing, and was an avid reader. He combined his passion for law, history, and literature by authoring two books; one outlining the Constitution, and one detailing Ohio’s history. While he loved Ohio State sports, he was truly passionate about Duke University. While attending, he grew to love North Carolina and passed that love down to his family. He was an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church of Kenton. Above all else, John was a proud attorney and practitioner of law.

John leaves behind a loving and devoted wife, Anda M. Tudor (Vilums), whom he married on August 26, 1961. Together, they had two children, Mara Tudor Ward and Andrew R. Tudor (Jodi). He was grandfather to seven: Morgan Tudor, Matthew Ward, Caitlin Tudor, Alex Ward, Evan Tudor, Justin Ward, and Alison Ward. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Jo Tudor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Marjorie, and a sister, Hannah Ann Tudor.

Friends and family may call from 3 – 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Kenton, with a funeral service beginning at 5 p.m. at the church. A reception will follow at the Kenton Elks #157. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, John’s family suggest donations be made to either of the following causes which were important to him:Trinity Presbyterian Church of Kenton – 301 W Columbus Street, Kenton, Ohio 43326Indian Lake Yacht Club Tornado Relief – P.O. Box 864, Russells Point, Ohio 43348.
