Obituary for Rebecca Sue “Becky” Craig

Rebecca Sue “Becky” Craig, 83 of Kenton passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020.  Becky was born in rural Mt. Victory on the family farm to the late Ralph and Medrith (Hare) Craig on February 23, 1937. She graduated from Mt. Victory High School in 1954. Becky worked in the laboratory at the Marysville Memorial Hospital where she is credited for making the laboratory on of the first small hospital labs to be accredited by the College of American Pathologists in 1980. She served as the laboratory director and retired after many years of service. She also worked at a floral shop in Columbus. Becky was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Church, Kenton and was also a member of the Kenton Flower Club.  She enjoyed Ohio State football and loved music and traveling but most of all, Becky enjoyed spending time on her family farm, driving her John Deere tractor. She was also active in the Hardin County Council on Aging.  Becky was also preceded in death by her brother, Steven Craig and many cousins.

Surviving are her cousins; Betty Lou Cavin of Columbus, Fredia Davis of Findlay, Marilyn Camp of Elida and many loving and supportive friends and neighbors. A graveside service for Becky will begin at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Hale Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her parents and brother.  Rev. Randall Forester will officiate.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to donate to the Hardin County Dog Shelter or the Kenton Full Gospel Bread of Life Food Pantry.  Online condolences can be expressed to the family by visiting stoutcrates.com.
