Obituary for Thornton Edward “Eddie” Cooper

Thornton Edward “Eddie” Cooper, 67 of Kenton passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at his residence. He was born on May 22, 1953 in Kenton to Thornton E. and Marilyn (Hatch) Cooper.  Eddie is survived by his mother, Marilyn (Starling) Cole of Kenton, longtime friend and mother to his children, Bonnie Newland of Kenton, son, Shawn Newland also of Kenton,

4 sisters; Deborah Cooper, Marina (Chad) Miller, Regina (Eric Marvin) Cooper, Tara (Rick) Sheldon all of Kenton, step-brothers and sisters; Ernie Davis of Kenton, Dennis Cooper of Upper Sandusky, Tom Davis of Kenton, John Cole of Kenton, Audrey Davis of Lima, Patricia Trout of Bellefontaine, 8 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Eddie was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Newland, his father, Thornton Cooper, brothers and sisters; Sheila Cooper, Sally Patterson, Rick Davis, step mother, Lois Jean Cooper. Eddie enjoyed working on cars and worked at Whitaker Enterprises for many years. He loved fishing, hunting and was a very caring man with a heart of gold.  Visitation will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.  A private burial will take place in Grove Cemetery at a later date.  Online condolences can be expressed to the family by visiting stoutcrates.com.
