Vickie Lee Betz 69, of Kenton passed away at her residence on January 19th, 2025. She was born July 16, 1955, to the late Robert and Patricia (Wright) Betz.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jalynn ( Scott ) Helton and Kaitlin Sherman (Robert Shemeth) both of Kenton; two grandchildren Eyan Helton and Emilee Helton of Kenton, along with three sisters Ann (James) Vitte of Fostoria, Kara (James) Myers and Lisa Thomas both of Wapakoneta, and several nieces and nephews.
She was a graduate of Kenton High School class of 1973 and retired from Continental Structural Plastics (Budd Company) of Carey Ohio in 2020. After retiring Vickie was a dedicated full-time caretaker and companion for her mother Patricia Betz until her recent passing November 29, 2024. Her hobbies included gaming, crocheting, binge watching her favorite tv shows, listening to classic rock, and of course reading. Vickie was an avid reader for most of her life. She loved delving into the worlds of the supernatural, science fiction, and futuristic mystery. She enjoyed collecting all her favorite authors books to add to her impressive library. Though Vickie wore many hats, she was most importantly a mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and having a good laugh. She always said her greatest accomplishment in life was her children. She wanted to remind her daughters often of how proud she was of them. She was also a supportive grandmother (grammy) to her two grandchildren and was active in their activities. Vickie will be greatly missed. “The song is ended but the melody lingers on.”
At Vickie’s request no visitation will be held at this time. A celebration of life ceremony will be held later for family and friends. COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME has been entrusted with her care. Online condolences may be shared with her family at www.coldrencrates.com.
