The Ohio Division of Wildlife encouraged those filling out a tax return to consider making a donation to the Wildlife Diversity Fund.
In the past, the donations have supported the reintroduction of native species including lake sturgeon, freshwater mussels and the monarch butterfly.
Donations also fund free informational field guides and classroom resources and support the agency’s partnerships with Ohio’s zoos to create educational exhibits on the state’s native animals.
