A more active winter is keeping crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation busy.

ODOT released an update on the cost of snow and ice operations in District 1 since November.

So far crews have used 42,753 tons of salt and just over 567,000 gallons of liquid de-icer. 579,900 miles have been driven at a total cost of 5.5 million dollars.

That is almost double the figures from last winter at this time.
