LIMA, Ohio (Oct. 4, 2019) – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is offering a free workshop for small businesses to learn about the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program and the certification process.
The workshop will provide small businesses, women and minorities, and disadvantaged business owners the opportunity to learn about the DBE certification process and access to participate on federally funded highway construction and consulting services projects.
In fiscal year 2018, ODOT awarded $148,399,398 million dollars to DBE firms.
“ODOT’s needs in building and maintaining the valuable transportation system we have are vast. Bringing in the business partners we need to do that is critical. This is why we are focusing on reaching disadvantaged and small businesses so they can share in our successes,” said Terry Bolden, administrator, ODOT’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion, office of outreach.
