The Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Ohio Department of Transportation are emphasizing existing Ohio law to improve safety within highway work zones.

In early June, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine directed enhanced enforcement of Ohio law within work zones to include more troopers, motorcycle units, monitoring work zones on the ground, and increased use of OSP’s Aviation Unit to spot dangerous drivers from the air.

Troopers are targeting crash-causing violations, such as exceeding the speed limit, driving impaired, driving distracted, and otherwise driving recklessly in work zones.
