The Ohio State Highway Patrol reminded motorists that driving sober isn’t just a choice, it’s a responsibility we all share to keep our roadways safe.

This is National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week, and the Patrol is reminding everyone to get home the safest way you can.

They said that means designating a driver, using public transportation or using a ride share service.

Since 2019, over 72,000 crashes and 53% of fatal crashes involved alcohol and/or drug use.

The Patrol has issued over 100,000 OVI-related citations since that time.
