One Killed, Two Others Injured in Marion County Crash

A two vehicle crash in Marion County Tuesday evening claimed the life of one person and injured two others.

According to a release from the Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 41 year old Richard Congrove Jr. drove left of center while traveling west on Marion-Cardington Road.

The vehicle collided head on with an eastbound car being driven by 30 year old Tyler E. Johnson.

Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Congrove and a juvenile passenger in his vehicle were both transported to Marion General Hospital.

The juvenile was later taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and Congrove was transferred to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash which remains under investigation.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Pleasant Township Fire and EMS, Marion Township EMS, Marion County Coroner’s Office, and Ron’s Towing.
