Ohio Northern University in Ada honored Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday by remembering his visit to campus 53 years ago in 1968.

Dr. King addressed an overflow audience in Taft Memorial Gymnasium.

It is estimated that approximately 4,500 people listened to King that day.

Ohio Northern became one of the last campuses the civil rights leader would visit before his assassination four months later, on April 4, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee.
