Parades and Services Signal a Return to Normal Memorial Day Activities

The 2021 Memorial Day Parade in Kenton takes place this morning.

The parade is scheduled to start at 10am.

All organizations are welcome to participate.

Line up will be at the Mary Lou Johnson Library at 9:30 this morning.

The parade is hosted by the City of Kenton Parks and Recreation and the Kenton Lions.


A Memorial Day Parade will be held in Alger this afternoon.

Line up will be at the old Alger school location at 1pm.

The parade will begin at 2 this afternoon.

The parade will feature many different and creative parade entries.


The William Britton V.F.W. Post 6817 and Auxiliary will have Memorial Day Services this morning at the following cemeteries:

Byhalia Cemetery   –  9:30 AM

Ridgeway Cemetery   –  10:30 AM

Hale Cemetery   –  11:00  AM

There will not be any activities in downtown Mt. Victory for the Post and Auxiliary due to covid constraints but, everyone is invited to come for the Car Show.  


The Mt. Victory United Methodist Church will be open today for a very limited food menu.  

They will have fresh cooked hot dogs, individual bags of chips and drinks.  

This will all be for donations only.

The church will be open from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM for food items, restroom facilities, air conditioned space and for just resting.
