A pedestrian was killed this morning after being struck by a train in Findlay.
According to a release from the Findlay Police Department, officers were dispatched at just after 6 this morning to the CSX railroad tracks between the 300 block of Clinton Street and the 300 block of West Main Cross Street to investigate the incident.
It was discovered that a southbound CSX freight train had struck and killed a person who was walking on the railroad tracks.
At this time, this incident is still actively being investigated, and several crossings have been blocked.
The body of the person who was killed has been transported to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office at the direction of Hancock County Coroner Dr. Mark Fox.
The name of the individual is not released at this time pending notification of next of kin. Assisting at the scene were the Findlay Fire Department, Hanco Ambulance, City of Findlay Public Works Department, and personnel from CSX Railroad.
