A Lima man was killed when he was struck by a train while walking on railroad tracks near Bellefontaine Tuesday night.
WPKO Radio reported that 41 year old Preston Adkins, formerly of Bellefontaine, was walking on the tracks in the area of Troy Road and County Road 32.
The CSX train was travelling between 40 to 42 miles an hour when it struck Adkins. His body was found just north of the tracks, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
