The hills are alive in polar bear country as the cast of Hardin Northern’s spring musical “The Sound of Music” prepares for their big weekend of performing the 1965 classic. The cast has been hard at work for the past three months. Cai Allen, who plays Captain Georg von Trapp, said that the experience has been a lot of hard work.

“It’s been quite a journey to get here. We’ve been working really hard to get here. A lot of patience and perseverance. We’re really nervous, but we’re also really excited.” Said Allen.

Female lead Clair Wilson, who plays Sister Maria in the production, said that she was striving for Salzburg to come to Dola.

“Mrs. Eikenbary has the final say in the musical and she usually gives us some ideas, but since I’m a senior this year, I definitely pulled for the Sound of Music” said Wilson. “I pushed it on her every five minutes.” Laughed Wilson.

The cast will put on three viewings of the production. The first will debut tomorrow night at 7. Saturday there will also be a showing at 7, and the final performance will be Sunday at 2:30 in the High School. Tickets are available at the door.
