The nations first female Vice-President Kamala Harris joined Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi sat on the podium behind the president during the speech.

Biden also touted success in the fight against COVID-19, but he added more work needs to be done.

He said that starts with getting vaccinated, “Today, nearly 90 million Americans live less than five miles from a vaccination site. Everyone 16 and over are eligible. Americans, get the vaccine now. It’s available.”

Normally more than 1600 people pack the chamber for the address, but last night only 200 people were permitted due to COVID restrictions.
