Pursuit in Findlay Ends with a Crash

A pursuit ended in a crash early Sunday morning in Findlay.

 

According to a release from the Findlay Police department, officers attempted to stop a vehicle for several traffic violations in the 600 block of S. Main St. 

 

The male driver refused to stop and led Officers on a 5 minute pursuit that covered nearly 3 miles. Speeds were in excess of 60 M.P.H. and the suspect failed to stop for several stop signs. 

 

The vehicle was eastbound on West Lima Street approaching the stop sign at Western Avenue at the same time a marked Findlay Police Cruiser was southbound on Western Avenue. The suspect disregarded the stop sign and struck the rear passenger side of the police cruiser. 

 

The suspect continued on and abandoned the vehicle in the 800 block of Hurd Ave.  The driver fled on foot and was not located. 

 

No one was injured. 

 

The investigation is on-going.
