The month of January is Radon Awareness Month.
Chris Alexander, Program Supervisor with Ohio Healthy Homes, said Radon Awareness takes place in January since it is during heating season.
“Radon is a colorless, odorless gas that causes lung cancer,” Alexander said. “It’s present in all homes, but some homes tend to concentrate it a little more, and to find out if you have a high radon level in your home, you need to do a radon test.
