The Union County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a rash of vehicle break-ins that have occurred in Jerome and Millcreek Townships over the past five weeks.
According to a release, many of the vehicles involved were left unlocked with valuables stored inside.
The Sheriff’s Office strongly encourages residents to remove all computers, cell phones, wallets, purses, firearms, gift cards, and anything else of value from your vehicles when they are parked outside.
Locking your vehicle is also highly recommended as well.
Another safety concern is leaving your garage door open at night. They should be secured.
Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to call Det. Shawn Golden at (937)645-4101 ext. 4443 or Lt. Jeff Stiers at (937)645-4126.
