A fire damaged a house in Alger early Tuesday morning. No information is available at this time, but we do know the fire occurred on Ohio Street in the village.


The American Red Cross North central Ohio Chapter provided assistance to six people in the house. That included temporary lodging, food and clothing.


Later in the day, a van fire was reported on Walnut Street in Kenton. According to information from the Kenton Fire Department, the van that was destroyed was valued around $2000.


Firefighters were also dispatched to Precision Strip when a pit under one of machines caught fire. There was no damage.
