The Ohio State Highway Patrol and other members of the 6-State Trooper Project reported the results of the campaign on enforcement of distracted driving.
The initiative ran from April 5 through the 12.
During that time, troopers in Ohio issued 557 citations for distracted driving.
The high-visibility enforcement included State Police agencies from Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
The multi-state law enforcement partnership is aimed at providing combined and coordinated law enforcement and security services in the areas of highway safety, criminal patrol and intelligence sharing.
