January 13, 2022, Reorganizational and Regular Board Meeting Highlights

On January 13, 2022, at 5:00 pm in room #304, the Ridgemont Board of Education convened to hold its annual reorganizational meeting. Treasurer, Melissa Pollom administered the Oaths of Office to the newly elected Board Members, Matt Jennings, Paige Wallace, and Kate Wingfield. Paige Wallace was elected President for 2022 and Matt Jennings, Vice President. Treasurer, Melissa Pollom administered the Oaths of Office to the newly elected officers. Charlie McCullough was elected Treasurer Pro Tempore.

.Standing authorizations which allow the business of the school district to be carried out over the course of the year were approved, examples include, but are not limited to: the authorization to participate in Federal, State, and Local grants, to accept donations on behalf of the Board, and to pay bills within the limits of the appropriations.

.Ohio School Board legal assistance and membership dues were approved.

January 13, 2022 Regular Board Meeting Highlights

Congratulations to Senior, Landon Newland for breaking the all-time leading scorer record in Ridgemont basketball history of 1579 points Saturday night in their win against Riverdale. Landon had 34 points that game and will continue to set a higher record of his own.

Landon’s senior year includes attending Marion Technical College in Nursing, he is in the process of receiving his STNA certification and he is a caregiver, congratulations on being an outstanding student-athlete in the classroom and on the court.

Also, a shout out to the Boys Basketball team and coaches as they continue to work together as a team and have an outstanding season!

Ridgemont Local Schools Celebrates School Board Recognition Month –
Ridgemont School District joins more than 700 school districts throughout Ohio to celebrate School Board Recognition Month. Our school board members are citizen-servants who shoulder critical responsibilities and often make difficult choices for our district. Their focus is always on the future of the children of our district and celebrating School Board Recognition Month is one way to say thank you for all they do.

Thank you to current board members Eric Hill, Matt Jennings, Charlie McCullough, and Paige Wallace.
Thank you to outgoing board member Corey Ledley who served the board for 12 years.
Thank you to incoming board member Kate Wingfield.

It’s more important than ever that communities support public education so that today’s students are prepared to be productive citizens and the leaders of tomorrow. On behalf of the Ridgemont staff, students, and community, thank you to these board members!

Personnel
Sara McKee was approved as a volunteer assistant softball coach for the 2021-2022 school year. One TEMP substitute teacher was approved for the 2021-2022 school year and a classified substitute was also approved.

Operations
Standard Form of Agreements between Ridgemont and SHP for the preschool renovation, playground improvements and track improvements were approved. The CCP agreement with Clark State was approved for the 2022-2023 school year. An agreement was approved to work in coordination with the Hardin County Emergency Management Agency.

Donations
We want to thank everyone who has generously donated to our school. The Ridgemont Board of Education accepted donations and took the time to thank the donors listed below for their generosity to the district.

-Thank you to Joan White, Jennifer Russell and Anonymous Donor who graciously donated to the Secret Santa store.
-Thank you to Jennifer and Scott Russell for the donation of a piano to the Music Department.

The next Board meeting will be held on February 24, 2022, at 4:30 pm in the Math Room #304.
