Facilities projects:

.It is hard to believe but, our track at the Ridgeway facility is 20 years old and it was last resurfaced in 2014. Track surfaces usually need to be at least resurfaced every 5-7 years and we are there. Our track surface is definitely in need of resurfacing, but there is also cracking and uneven surfaces. The track assessment from the Kleingers Group has given us a better idea of the needs for our track and we are looking at replacing all layers of the track this summer.

.Two other projects that we will use ESSER grant funds on are additional playground space and structures for our K-6 students and preschool classrooms. We will be expanding our preschool classrooms by renovating two rooms in the Ridgeway building. This will allow us to have more openings for students entering preschool.

Personnel:

The motion passed to non-renew all fall 2021 supplemental contracts as each supplemental contract is for one year and the fall season is complete. Treasurer Melissa Pollom’s contract was approved as well as an addendum to her current contract.

Substitute Teachers and Bus Driver Substitutes were approved for the 2021-2022 school year. Jayden Streets and Samantha McCullough were approved as volunteer basketball coaches for the 2021-2022 school year.

The Board approved a resolution for the employment of Substitute Teachers for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year to help with the shortage of substitute teachers. The Midwest Regional ESC office will be handling the substitute certification process once approved by Ridgemont.

If you are interested in applying to be a substitute teacher, contact Sandy Overly at 937-354-2141 or sandy.overly@ridgemont.k12.oh.us .
