The Ridgemont School Board of Education met Thursday evening.
At the meeting, the Board heard from Dr. Rick Smith, Superintendent of Ohio Hi-Point Career Center, who talked about the programs at his school. Dr. Smith also thank the Ridgement district for supporting Ohio Hi-Point.
Pat Schmanski, from the Ohio School Board Association-Northwest Region, also attended the meeting. He presented a certificate to Board President Eric Hill for being a board member for 10 years.
The Ridgemont Board approved Calendar B for the 2018-19 school year. The first day of school will be Thursday August 16. Students will get the week of the Hardin County Fair off. The last day of classes for that school year will be Wednesday May 29.
The board also thanked law enforcement personnel from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office for being present throughout the building during the week to ensure safety for the students.
