Ridgemont School Board Holds October Meeting- Minutes Released

October 26, 2021 Regular Board Meeting Highlights

The National FFA Convention is from October 27 to 30, 2021 and we wish the finalists listed below good luck.

Top 3 in the Nation – Kevin Eckstein – Power Systems Division of the National AgriScience Fair
Top 4 in the Nation – Mykenzie Lance – Swine Placement Proficiency
Top 4 in the Nation – Madisen Jolliff – Service-Learning Proficiency

Four graduates will also earn their American FFA Degrees, they are: Levi Beiler, Jonathan Eckstein, Madisen Jolliff & Mekenzie Jolliff.

The NWCC announced all league selections for Football. Congratulations to Landon Newland and Jevin Henderson for earning 2nd Team honors! Congratulations to Mitch Jennings, Briley McGue and Carter Ruppright for earning Honorable Mention!

The NWCC announced all league selections for Volleyball. Congratulations to Callie Cromer for earning 2nd Team honors! Callie was also selected to represent Ridgemont in the District 8 Senior All-Star game on November 17th at Coldwater. Congratulations to Amanda Howland and Abi Smith for earning Honorable Mention!

The NWCC also announced all league selections for Golf. Congratulations to Hayden Oates for earning 2nd Team honors!

Personnel
The resignation from Danette Weaver for JH Cheerleading Winter Coach was accepted and Jessica Billenstain was hired for the position for the 2021-2022 school year. Substitute Teachers, Bus Driver Substitutes and Classified Substitutes were approved for the 2021-2022 school year. An Educational Aide payment for additional work hours was approved. An agreement with the Midwest Regional ESC was approved for the 2021-2022 school year for a Behavioral Specialist.

Operations
A resolution was approved to recognize Girls’ swimming and diving as a varsity sport in 2021-2022 and Jina Kearns was approved as a volunteer coach. Indoor Track was recognized and approved for participation during the 2021-2022 school year.

Policies were approved.

A resolution was approved ratifying the selection of and the agreement with The Kleingers Group for design professional services related to the Running Track Improvements Project.

Donations
We want to thank everyone who has generously donated to our school. The Ridgemont Board of Education accepted donations and took the time to thank the donors listed below for their generosity to the district.

Thank you for your donations to the Ridgemont FFA Chapter-
-Adam and Jessica Billenstein for their donation of Pizza for students at the Farm to Fork STEM Ag Day
-69 mums were donated to the fundraiser to offset student costs to attend the National FFA Convention

Thank you Nick Cox for applying for and receiving the Elementary School Grant from the Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches – to support teachers and coaches to promote the sport of Track and Field through a Field Day and build interest at the grassroots level. Track items for grades 3-5.

The November Regular Board meeting will be held on November 18, 2021, at 5:00 pm in the Conference Room.
