December 17, 2020 Board of Education Highlights
Personnel:
The Board accepted the retirement of Greg Johnson, effective May 28, 2021. Mr. Johnson has been with the district for 35 years as Physical Education Teacher and various coaching positions. Mr. Johnson stepped up by taking Golf Team Coach when no one applied, to keep a team going and has held that position since. The Board would like to thank Mr. Johnson for his 35 years of service to the Ridgemont students.
Danielle Webber was approved for a supplemental contract step increase with experience verification for Senior Class Advisor. One teacher substitute from the MRESC was approved and we are still asking for those interested to contact us to become a teacher substitute. A stipend for teachers was approved for additional hours of Professional Development on January 12th and 14th. Hayden Freshcorn was also approved for graduation.
Operations:
An agreement with Smith Boughan for Preventative Maintenance for the next 3 years was approved.
The next Board of Education meeting will be the Reorganizational Meeting on January 7, 2021, at 5:00 pm in Math Room #304 and the January Regular Board Meeting will immediately follow. Corey Ledley was approved to be the President Pro Temp for the Reorganizational Meeting on January 7, 2021.
Donations:
We want to thank everyone who has generously donated to our school. The Ridgemont Board of Education accepted donations and took the time to thank the donors listed below for their generosity to the district.
.Trish Lones – Donation of 60 Beanie Babies to Kindergarten students for Christmas gifts as “Reading Buddies”.
.Honda Transmissions – Donation of bottled water to students.
.Liberty Bank – Donation of coats, hats, and gloves to students.
