Ridgemont Withstands Lehman Catholic’s Comeback Attempt

Ridgemont Golden Gophers Varsity built an eight-run lead in the fifth inning and then held off Lehman Catholic’s charge for a 10-9 victory on Tuesday.

Lehman Catholic tallied eight runs in the failed comeback. Grace Monnin, Abby Schutt, Grace Brandt, Olivia Lucia, Monnin, and Hope Anthony picked up RBIs to lead the rally.

There was plenty of action on the basepaths as Ridgemont Golden Gophers Varsity collected eight hits and Lehman Catholic had ten.

Ridgemont Golden Gophers Varsity got on the board in the first inning. An error scored one run for Ridgemont Golden Gophers Varsity.

Ridgemont Golden Gophers Varsity scored five runs in the fifth inning. Nikki Freshcorn, Amanda Howland, and Emma Smith powered the big inning with RBIs.

Lehman Catholic scored four runs in the seventh inning. Lehman Catholic batters contributing to the big inning included Lucia, Monnin, and Anthony, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Cassidy Knapp was the winning pitcher for Ridgemont Golden Gophers Varsity. She lasted seven innings, allowing ten hits and nine runs while striking out seven.

Annie Stiver took the loss for Lehman Catholic. She went seven innings, allowing ten runs on eight hits and striking out seven.

Ridgemont Golden Gophers Varsity had eight hits in the game. Smith and Kylie Turner all collected multiple hits for Ridgemont Golden Gophers Varsity. Smith led Ridgemont Golden Gophers Varsity with three hits in five at bats. Ridgemont Golden Gophers Varsity stole five bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Brooke Nelson led the way with two. Ridgemont Golden Gophers Varsity didn’t commit a single error in the field. Jackie Ramsey had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.

Monnin went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Lehman Catholic in hits.
