Scammers Impersonating LPD Personnel Calling Lima Residents

The Lima Police Department advised residents about a scam taking place in that city.

It involves scammers claiming to be a sergeant at the police department calling residents and asking them to verify personal information.  

The information being sought includes name and social security number in order to verify a federal warrant. 

The police department stresses that they never call you and ask for that kind of information especially for that purpose.

You should not provide personal information over the phone to unknown callers and block numbers impersonating Lima Police Department personnel.
