Other counties in the state have shared that individuals have been contacted by potential scammers trying to get Social Security numbers and credit card information claiming it is for vaccine distribution.

The Kenton-Hardin Health Department has shared information regarding the process with local providers.

The following release was issued by the Kenton-Hardin Health Department:

We have also heard from other counties in the state there are calls coming from scammers claiming they are providing vaccines and they are asking for Social Security numbers and Credit Card information over the phone. We want to clarify no providers in the county will ask for your credit card information for payment.

As some providers are asking for insurance information they may collect other information but you are not required to share that over the phone, providers can collect that information at the vaccine clinic site. If you are unsure, please do not share that information over the phone, let them know you will provide it in person at your vaccine appointment.

As vaccine is still very limited in our community please visit our website for more information on local providers in our area: www.hardinhealth.org/vaccine
