Search for Missing 4 Year Old Boy Reaches a Sad Conclusion

The search for 4 year old Quinton Ellcessor concluded late Monday afternoon.

According to a release from Kenton Police Chief Dennis Musser, “At 4:40pm Monday, a K-9 team with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources located the child, who was found deceased, in the waters of the Scioto River, two miles east of the area the child was last seen.

The investigation will continue, pending an autopsy. We would like to thank our community for the outpouring of support during this difficult time, as well as the massive response we received from local, state and federal agencies that rushed to our aid when needed.

We would ask that the public respect the family;s privacy at this time.

Quinton went missing in the afternoon of Thursday October 22 from a home in the 600 block of South Wayne Street.

A massive search effort involving multiple agencies and thousands of citizens ensued until dark.

After that, infrared cameras on drones and helicopters continued the search.

Search efforts continued Friday but was hampered by rain that moved in by evening.

Crews searched the Scioto River by walking side by side down several miles.

Boats, helicopters and planes were utilized to continue the search through the weekend and into Monday until sadly his body was found.
