COLUMBUS – Today, Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose began the process to send voter registration forms to addresses which did not respond to “last chance” postcards sent by their local county Board of Election.

This morning, the Elections Division of the Secretary of State’s office issued a request of county boards of elections to provide the voter ID numbers of those who did not respond to “last chance” postcards at the request of the previous administration. These voter ID numbers will be used by the Secretary of State’s office to send voter registration cards to each of the addresses provided.

This is the first time an Ohio Secretary of State has taken this additional step to provide another registration opportunity to addresses who were sent “last chance” postcards.

“Ohio is once again taking an unprecedented step to ensure everyone who wants to be registered to vote gets that opportunity,” Secretary of State LaRose said. “Our state has long been a leader in making elections both accessible and secure, and this effort will continue that strong tradition.”
