A semi ended up in a pond after the driver fell asleep while traveling on U.S. 30 in Allen County Wednesday night.

According to a release from the Lima Post of the Ohio State Patrol, Larry S. Choice, age 38 of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was driving east on 30 at the time.

The semi went off the left side of the road, entered and crossed both westbound lanes of travel, went through a ditch and came to rest partially submerged in a residential pond.

Choice was able to escape the semi with help from the homeowner.

He received medical attention from Delphos EMS for minor injuries.

Both west bound lanes of US 30 were closed for approximately two hours while the semi was removed from the pond.
