Senator Brown Sponsors American Worker Holiday Relief Act

Written by on December 2, 2020

Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio is one of the sponsors for the American Worker Holiday Relief Act introduced yesterday.

A release from Senator Brown’s office states that the bill would retroactively extend the weekly $600 addition to unemployment insurance benefits through October 2021 and tie the additional weeks of federal benefits and new Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program for gig and freelance workers to economic conditions on the ground.

Senator Brown said his sponsorship of the bill comes in response to the number of Ohioans left living paycheck-to-paycheck as a result of the pandemic.
