Snow and Ice Operations in Hardin County Less Costly Than Last Year

The cost of operations regarding snow and ice on state highways within Hardin County was cheaper than last year.

 

According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, the total cost from November of 2018 to the present was $644,855, compared to $828,313 last year.

 

This winter, 3007 tons of salt was used, which is about half as last year.

 

Crews used 27,940 gallons of de-icer, which was slightly more than last season.

 

The total cost of operations in District 1 was 7.4 million dollars. Last year, the cost was 7.9 million.
