A solar panel field will be installed at the Carey School.
WFIN Radio reported that 3100 solar panels, which will generate 1.4 megawatts of electricity, will be put in by Eitri Foundry, of Orlando, Florida and Vaughn Industries, of Carey.
The school will pay 7.5 cents per kilowatt.
That adds up to an annual savings of $16,500 according to the Superintendent Mike Swank.
The solar farm will also prove to be educational as well since it will be incorporated into the science curriculum.
