A stabbing in Ada that claimed the life of a man during the overnight hours this past Monday continues to be investigated.

According to a release from Ada Police Chief Michael Harnishfeger, officers were called to 345 West Montford at around 12:15 Monday morning in reference to a disturbance involving a knife.

Upon arrival, they discovered 49 year old Rodney A. Slechter, of Lima, who had been stabbed by another male subject who was still in the house trailer.

Officers rendered first aid, but Slechter died at that location.

The other male was transported to Lima Memorial Hospital where he was treated for injuries sustained during an altercation between the two.

At this point, no one has been arrested or charged.

Chief Harnishfeger said they are still investigating and are waiting for reports from a number of assisting agencies, BCI and Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
