Hardin County EMA Director Jake Burgbacher and the National Weather Service have announced that the storm spotter training class for this evening has been cancelled.

Burgbacher said the decision was made due to the threat of severe weather this evening. He said they didn’t want anyone to be out and put themselves in harms way.

He added that the training class will be rescheduled.

In the event of severe weather, Burgbacher said if and when it is safe to do so, consider checking on family, friends and neighbors to help ensure their safety.

Anyone driving this evening is being asked to use caution, and people should stay tuned to WKTN and/or television weather stations for any alerts.
