Prevention Awareness Support Services (PASS) offered a 4 week mental health careers pathway program this summer for students in Grades 9-12.
Students were able to learn about the mental health and social work field by going on college campus visits, completing service projects, and listening to various speakers.
Hardin Northern had 3 students participate: Shelby Rickenbacher, AJ Allen, and Izzy Morrison.
During their time in the summer program, they planned out a car wash and raised money for the Hardin County Humane Society and Not By Choice.
They raised and donated $271.
The Hardin County group visited Bluffton University and The Ohio State University: Lima where they learned about both the psychology and social work programs as well as went on a tour of each campus.
The speakers over the summer included medical professionals, college professors, therapists, case managers, probation officers, and many others.
