Two people were arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop conducted by the Hardin County Crime Task Force Wednesday.
According to a release, the traffic stop was conducted on County Road 114 in Buck Township, which Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart said was the result of an on-going investigation, "They had surveillance on the vehicle, and once the vehicle was able to be stopped, we used the Sheriff's Office K9 unit to confirm that there were narcotics in the vehicle, which of course gave us probable cause to search the vehicle at that time, and is when we found the 341 balloons of heroin."
He said that is the largest single haul made in Hardin County to date, "That's almost a $9000 street value, 341 balloons, so that's in my opinion 341 balloons of heroin that did not hit the streets of Hardin County."
One vehicle was also seized, and one male, identified as Shane Spitnale, and a female, identified as Stephanie Pollock, both of Findlay, were arrested for possession of heroin, trafficking in heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Task Force was assisted by the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, Hardin County Sheriff K9 Unit, Kenton Police Department and Osborn's Towing.
