A crash at the intersection of State Routes 67 and 53 in Wyandot County Thursday morning injured two people.

According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office, 44 year old Christopher Hammond, of Bloomville, Ohio, drove west on 67 through the intersection and his semi struck a southbound vehicle being operated by 43 year old Amy Gillig, of Tiffin.

Gillig’s vehicle ended up off the road where it struck an AEP utility pole and overturned coming to rest on its side.

Electrical lines were brought down across the top of Hammond’s semi, which came to rest in the roadway.

Heavy damage occurred to the vehicles, and both drivers were transported to Wyandot Memorial Hospital.

Hammond was cited for failure to yield.
