Two Vehicles Strike Amish Buggy on SR 31

Four occupants on an Amish buggy were seriously injured in an accident that occurred around 8 this past Saturday night on State Route 31 at County Road 200 north of Mt. Victory.

According to information from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, John Miller, of Kenton, pulled the horse drawn buggy onto 31 after failing to stop for a stop sign on 200.

The buggy was first struck by a southbound vehicle being driven by Laurie Tackett, of Mt. Victory.

The buggy then spun into the northbound lane and was struck by a vehicle being operated by Autumn Francisco, of Kenton.

Miller and three other occupants on the buggy were all transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital and later transferred to other undisclosed hospitals for treatment of suspected serious injuries.

All of the occupants were partially ejected from the buggy.

The drivers of the vehicles were not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
